Every engagement starts with a short scoping call. Afterwards you get a written scope and a fixed price, per project or per month — no open-ended hourly billing.
New backend service — from zero to production
A Go or Node.js service designed, built and running in your infrastructure: API spec, data model, tests, CI pipeline, deployment and monitoring. Handed over with documentation so your team can own it.
Scale-out readiness
Your service works on one instance but breaks on several. I move in-process state to Redis, put background work on a queue and make the service safe to run horizontally — so you add instances when traffic grows instead of firefighting.
Framework migration
Moving a backend to a new framework or structure, for example from a hand-rolled setup to NestJS — module by module, while your team keeps shipping features.
Monolith to microservices, step by step
Your monolith slows every team down, but a big-bang rewrite is too risky. I map the domain boundaries, decide with you which parts are worth extracting — and which are better served by a well-structured modular monolith — and extract the first service while the existing system keeps running. Fixed price for the first extraction; further services as follow-up packages or under monthly ownership.
Backend ownership (monthly)
I own a backend or subsystem as part of your team: design, implementation, tests, deployment and monitoring. Fixed monthly fee for an agreed capacity, cancellable monthly.
Fullstack engagements welcome where the backend is the centre of gravity. Frontend-only work is limited to existing clients.
